I also recommend Wollaston Lake Lodge in Northeastern Saskatchewan. Wollaston Lake is the 12th largest lake in Canada. Wollaston Lake is considered by many to offer the best Northern pike fishing anywhere. Its not unusual to catch a forty five or fifty pound pike. They also feature walleyes, trout, and arctic graylings.

In addition to the fishing, Wollaston Lake Lodge offers four star accommodations. In their dining room, they are proud to welcome internationally trained chefs to offer up deluxe breakfasts and gourmet dinners. They lodge has spa facilities including a sauna and massage services and offers the latest in technology, too, from big screen satellite televisions to computer and fax equipment.

It makes me feel like Im wandering around Europe without the hassle of flying across the Atlantic. And the Quebec region has so much to offer. It is sure to please the entire family.

British Columbia fishing has the distinction of being the salmon capital of the world. In addition to the best salmon on the west coast, British Columbia fishing has a lot more to offer. The water around the Queen Charlotte Islands are known for their extreme fishing. And the British Columbian coastline is 12,000 miles of dramatic fjords, straits, and shorelines that are home to a multitude of fish.

In addition to salmon, British Columbia fishing is also know for halibut, bottom fish, and shellfish. Shellfish can be harvest along the beach, or in tidal waters with the proper permits. Halibut and other bottom fish tend to hand in depths from 70 to 300 feet. Halibut are known for their size which can reach up to 400 pounds, although most average halibut only weigh around 20 t0 40 pounds.

And British Columbia fishing regulations reflect their strong commitment to conservation. You must have a license to fish there. There is a daily limit for all species of finfish and shellfish. Throughout the coast, there is a ban on retaining sturgeon.

In addition to this, youre only allowed to retain four salmon per day and must record the number of chinnooks retained each day on your license. In order to retain salmon, you must have a salmon conservation stamp. Also, when fishing for salmon, you must use barbless hooks. This protects the salmon that youll be releasing. Field canning of any salmon is illegal.

Alberta fishing offers a wide range of locations that are sure to please any fisherman. Alberta has a unique geography. Located right in the middle of the transition from rocky mountains to prairie land, Alberta fishing offers many types of fish and bodies of water. And the views are simply stunning, from golden prairies to dramatic cliffs and peaks.

Alberta fishing along the foothills near the United States offers brook, cutthroat and bull trout populating the waters. Further north, youll find pike, trout, perch, and arctic grayling. Albert fishing requires licenses for most people, including tourists. Luckily, licenses for non residents are easy to procure and inexpensive as well. For a really cheap pass, consider fishing in any of Albertas beautiful nation parks. An annual fishing pass there runs only thirteen dollars, Canadian.

Banff National Park is a very popular destination. In addition to Lake Louise, it offers hot springs and the Icefields Parkway which connects you to Jasper Nation Park. Olympic Park in Calgary offers a spectacular view of the surrounding area. The site of the XV Winter Olympics, there is a chair lift that will still take you to the Ski Jump Complex. This is the highest point on Calgary and offers a breathtaking view.
